OliveNation Chipotle Morita Powder is a finely ground powdered ingredient that adds deep, medium heat with warm smoky taste and bold red color to recipes. Chipotle is the name for a ripe red jalapeno chile pepper that has been smoke dried, and Moritas are chipotles that have been smoked without completely drying (fully dehydrated chipotles are known as Meco peppers). Chipotle moritas offer rich, almost fruity notes along with the deep smoked/campfire taste and range from 10,000 to 35,000 on the Scoville Heat Scale, approximately twice as hot as jalapenos. Our morita powder is a finely ground condiment with smoky sweetness that balances heat and flavor and is a key ingredient in classic adobo sauces, traditional South American/Latin, and Mexican-inspired dishes.
Our smoky, spicy morita powder works well with chicken, beef, and hearty vegetables. The easy to measure ground spice is ideal for adding depth of flavor and classic smoke aroma in marinades, rubs, enchiladas, barbecue sauces, chili, and makes a fiery glass rimmer for Bloody Mary cocktails, margaritas, and other savory drinks. Bulk chipotle powder is a perfect choice for commercial bakery, foodservice, mix manufacturing, and beverage applications. Brewers use this powdered ingredient to add flavorful heat to beer, whiskey, RTD drinks. Many bakers enjoy adding chipotle powder to chocolate desserts like brownies and cakes for a signature twist on traditional Mexican Chocolate flavor.
